The General Assembly

  • Who?
    The General Assembly is composed of all members of the association.
  • What?
    The General Assembly is the supreme decision-making body of the association. Following a proposal from the Board of Directors, the General Assembly approves the annual budget & accounts, the association’s work plan as well as the method of calculating & allocating membership fees. Its powers include also the appointment of Board members & an auditor, the admission & exclusion of members and observers, the amendment of the articles of association. Each member has 1 vote in Euroglaces’ General Assembly

The Board of Directors

  • Who?
    The Board of Directors is composed of minimum 5 Directors. The Board members are all of senior management level and all belong to a different national association.
  • What?
    The Board of Directors is Euroglaces’ policy-making body. It defines and decides the broad lines and strategic directions of the association’s policy and priorities, and establishes the internal rules of procedure. The Board also prepares all proposals to be submitted for formal approval to the General Assembly, supervises and provides guidance to certain task forces and to the secretary general.

The Regulatory Affairs Committee and its Task Forces

  • Who?
    The Regulatory Affairs Committee and its Task Forces are composed of delegates from national ice cream associations and from ice cream companies.
  • What?
    The Regulatory Affairs Committee and Task Forces form the basis of Euroglaces’ activities. More than 25 ice cream experts work together to provide broad and in-depth expertise. They help to establish Euroglaces’ positions on key issues and put proposals to the Board of Directors on possible policy options.

The secretary general

  • Who?
    The secretary general is appointed by the General Assembly, and acts on the instructions of the Board of Directors.
  • What?
    The secretary general is in charge of the daily management of the association. His/her responsibilities include besides the administrative, financial & organizational aspects, the carrying out of the strategic planning and lobbying activities of the association, and the coordination of the work of the committees and task forces.
